We can refurbish the seats, often the covers if not split or torn will clean up very well, sometimes we have odd spares to match in, or replace with new. Contact Bill at South West Classic Cars on 07854 799381 anytime or 01392 495703 eves ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2/ MORRIS MINOR 1098CC UNLEADED REBUILT ENGINE FITTED We have been looking into the possibility of providing this service for a while and are delighted to say we have found a reliable source of completely and properly rebuilt engines. They are rebored, new pistons fitted, block skimmed, reground crank, all new bearings, new oil pump, new timing chain (gears inspected and done as necessary), valve gear reprofiled and replaced bearings, recon skimmed unleaded head (same as below). These are the later, larger 1098cc engines. They are supplied on an exchange basis, so yours can go back for rebuilding. If you have a 948cc engine in your car the 1098cc can be easily fitted to uprate the power, which is a popular conversion. If you want a replacement 948cc engine they are also avavilable to keep the original specification. If you would like to have your own engine rebuilt this may be possible but will obviously take a fair while longer, please ask for details on time scales. The work would be done at Westcountry Classics where they are very experienced with Morris Minors. Reconditioned unleaded heads which have been skimmed, fitted with new hardened valve seats, reground or replaced valves and new valve guides. The hardened valve seats to prevent the problems of wear with unleaded petrol, (you can still use leaded petrol afterwards if you want). Fitting will be at Westcountry Classics and is in and out in less than a day normally. Please contact us for a quotation on 01736 762402 and to discuss your requirements. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4/ VALUATION SERVICE We are happy to carry out inspections and give valuations for insurance purposes or probate. We will take into account things such as condition, rarity, current market prices, quality of work carried out, etc. Details of major expenditure or work you have had done including bills and receipts may be useful. If the vehicle is particularly rare or unusual it can sometimes take slightly more research to give a fair valuation. Over-the-phone estimates are not viable on older vehicles because condition is so critical. Please remember to try and be fairly realistic about your expectations even if it is your pride and joy or for insurance purposes. A charge depending on the amount of time involved may be made, but please ask for details. We will be very interested to find out what you have got and help out if we can. Also if you have odd items which might be of interest including the really old veteran, vintage or steam car parts. Even if we are unable to use them ourselves we will often know, or be able to find, that person looking for that elusive part.
